The Market at Grelen Star Party

This is a 600 acre site in Somerset, Virginia, near James Madison’s Montpelier, which offers 360 degree rural dark sky viewing. The celestial observing programs will immediately follow their Thursday concert series, with observing beginning around 9:00 P.M. and lasting until 11:15 P.M.

Charlottesville Astronomical Society members will provide telescopic views of astronomical objects for the attending public.  This will also be a great opportunity for astronomical observing and for newer CAS members to get training on using telescopes and learning their way around the night sky.

The program dates are all are weather-dependent, with go or no-go calls made by Scott Duresky (see below).

There may be a $5.00 entrance fee, which will be waived for those not attending the concert who identify themselves as members or guests of the Charlottesville Astronomical Society.
