Night Skies at Big Meadows, Shenandoah National Park

August 26 @ 8:00 pm 10:00 pm

National Parks are becoming a refuge for people from city light pollution. Guests will be instructed in constellation identification, astronomical objects locations and how to use binoculars for astronomy. Highlights tonight will be Mercury at greatest eastern elongation, Saturn, and Jupiter.

Free to all park visitors. Binoculars, a blanket, chair, and flashlight are recommended.

Presentation is cancelled if there is inclement weather. Call 540-999-2222 the day of the event to check on its status.
