Our guest speaker is Colin Haig of Diffraction Limited https://diffractionlimited.com/ makers of astronomical imaging hardware and software.
Colin will be addressing the evolving landscape of detector technology and its impact on the observing community
Colin Haig, M.Sc. is the head of marketing and business development at Diffraction Limited, makers of MaxIm DL, Boltwood Cloud Sensors, and SBIG CCD and CMOS APS cameras. Colin is an amateur astronomer, incessant tinkerer, and past president of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, a 5000+ member association of amateur and professional astronomers.
If the night is clear, we will open the 26″ McCormick Telescope for viewing after the meeting.
Those attending the meeting at the observatory will receive their CAS membership pin.
The meeting this month will be a Hybrid Meeting. We will meet in person at the University of Virginia’s McCormick Observatory and the meeting will also be conducted in a Zoom session with Zoom login details sent out to all CAS membership.
